No really.. that's kinda what happened....
okay okay.. here's more details!! :) January of 2007 we went on a cruise with Kati's dad's side of the extended family. Kati's friend Megan R came with us. It was a blast! We went to Cozumel and Key West. On the formal night of the cruise, everyone told Kati to be ready about a half hour early and she walked with Andy and Megan to find her parents. Somewhere along the lines, Megan trailed away, assuming she was going to find Kati's parents, she didn't notice. Kati fell in love with the marble staircase in the middle of the ship, so that is where he lead her. On the platform they stopped and Kati began to look around. She spotted Megan on the next level up with her camera, confused Kati was getting ready to ask Andy what she was doing when she noticed him on one knee. He then asked her to marry him and she screamed "ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!" He began to laugh and said "Yes, I'm serious" Kati then replied "YES!" Fortunately, there was a photographer set up to take formal portraits on the staircase, and he finally realized what was happening. So, he grabbed his camera and took a few professional pics. Kati was slightly unhappy when he then interrupted her excitment to take more posed pictures. Soo happy to have those pictures, but she would have loved a few more candid ones and let the emotions roll. Either way, it was perfect and soo memorable. He even asked her father before they left for the cruise!!! Kati had NO IDEA what was happening!! It was absolutely perfect!!
